Reflecting with Gratitude on the Impact We Make Together

Dear Friends,

Looking back at 2022, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the Buckelew community. Our program staff is talented and dedicated, earning the trust of our clients to engage in services that help their recovery. Our experienced Board of Directors guides us with a steady hand. Our generous donors ensure we can continue providing behavioral health services for those who may otherwise not have access.

A close look at our newly-released annual Impact Report chronicles the year of incredibly hard work on behalf of our clients. I hope you will take a few moments to read it, reflect on our efforts, meet some of the clients we’ve profiled, and hopefully share it with a friend or family member.

This year, Buckelew Programs had numerous opportunities to deepen work in our core program areas of Counseling, Recovery, Service Navigation, Supported Housing, and Suicide Prevention. Opportunities such as:

  • Participating in the national launch of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, answering approximately 1,000 monthly calls.
  • Collaborating with the Santa Rosa Police Department to play an essential role in the new inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team to respond to calls for service with a mental-health-first approach and provide wrap-around support services.
  • Bringing Athena House, a much-needed women-only substance use recovery treatment and sober-living community, under the Buckelew umbrella when it faced immediate closure last summer.

Continued expansion of programs and collaboration with partners in the North Bay are allowing us to make great strides in delivering more services to more people when they need them.

Thank you for being a part of our community and placing your trust in us. We can only do this work with your support.

Together, we can make recovery possible.

From the Buckelew family to yours, have a wonderful holiday!

Ways to Give: Gifts of Stock and Securities

There are many ways to give to Buckelew Programs, and a gift of stock or securities is one of the most popular. Donating stock or other securities offers financial benefits for you while providing vital support to Buckelew. We recommend you consult your financial advisor to donate stock, bonds or mutual funds.

No matter how you give, your generous gift to Buckelew Programs will support access to mental health and substance use services in the North Bay that can make a meaningful and lasting difference for individuals of all ages, families and loved ones.

Instilling Hope in Recovery & Resilience

We need your help to raise $40,000 this year-end to support Buckelew’s most vital programs in the coming year. We have ambitious goals to expand our Counseling, Recovery, Service Navigation, Supported Housing, and Suicide Prevention services. Your gift will make a meaningful difference in someone’s recovery journey. When you give by December 31, a generous donor will match your donation up to $20,000, doubling your impact.

Thank you for your interest in our work. We welcome all suggestions to help us improve our communications to you. Please contact Pat Gallagher, Chief Philanthropy Officer at PatG@Buckelew.org or 415.491.5748.
